What’s the difference between a Kindle Fire and a IPad 2?

I hear that they are basically the same but that the Pad is a computer. Otherwise, what’s the difference?
(I have the Kindle 3 but never used a Pad)

But it seems to me the only great advantage of the ipad is that you get a camera. Not sure that would be worth all of the extra $$$
